Q&A: What kind of shade plants/flowers would like nice in front of a brick house?

Question by CharChar: What kind of shade plants/flowers would like nice in front of a brick house?
I am trying to plan what flowers or plants to plant in front of our house. The front of the house is in the shade because of two large pine trees that are in front of our house. The previous owner had a lot of hostas which I pulled out because they were overgrown and blocked the sidewalk so people couldn't even walk on it. Are there any plants which would do well in the shade and look nice
