This is the most celebrated flowering tree in Vietnamese New Year Days. The closest name for this plant that I can locate is Ochna Integerrima. We named it Hoa Mai. There are many species of Ochna. Nevertheless, when Vietnamese people talk about Hoa Mai for new year ( Tet ) this is the a single. It will develop to a modest tree not a shrub like other Ochna (Mickey Mouse Plant ).
